How Often Should I Forigve

When asked by Peter how often should I forgive my brother Jesus answered. “I do not say to you, up to seven times, but up to seventy times seven.” Matthew 18″21-22

Be on your gard!  If your brother sins, rebuke him; and if he repents, forgive him, And if he sins against you seven times a day, and returns to you seven times, saying, “I repent,” forgive him.  Luke 17:3-4.

Christ is making a terrific point.  There should be no time when your brother, sister, neighbor, friend or fellow Christian comes before you asking for forgiveness that we should not forgive them for what they have done against us.

Why?

Matthew gives us the answer in Matthew 6:14-15  For if you forgive others for their transgressions, your heavenly Fther will also forgive you.   But if you do not forgive others, then your Father will not forgive your transgressions.
