The Problem of Cherished Sin

Dear Lord, you have said, “If I regard iniquity in my heart, the Lord will not near me.” (Psalm 66:18).  Will you give me the power to repent of and forsake all cherished sin?

God has promised that He will exalt with his right hand to be a Prince and a Saviour, for to give repentance. Acts 5:31.  Matthew 28:18 tells us that “All power is given unto Me (Jesus) in heaven and in earth.

Matthew penned these words of Jesus where Jesus invites us to “Ask and it shall be given to you.”  Matthew 7:7.  Christ and all of heaven is willing to forgive your sin and give you the power over that cherished sin.

Then we can prayer, “Dear Lord, I thank you for this promise, and by faith I accept it, and cry out: “I hate ever false way.” Psalm 119:128
