^{Your Testimonies are My Meditation}

⁹⁷ Oh how I love Your law! It is my meditation all the day.

⁹⁸ You through Your commandments make me wiser than my enemies; For they are ever with me.

⁹⁹ I have more understanding than all my teachers, For Your testimonies are my meditation

¹⁰⁰ I understand more than the ancients, Because I keep Your precepts.

¹⁰¹ I have restrained my feet from every evil way, That I may keep Your word

¹⁰² I have no departed from Your judgments, For You Yourself I have taught me.

¹⁰³ How sweet are Your words to my taste, Sweeter than honey to my mouth!

¹⁰⁴ Through Your precepts I get understanding; Therefore I hate every false way.

We may read, hear, speak, and preach about God’s law, but unless we love its precepts, no profit will grow. Love and law are closely associated. Romans 13:10 tell us that “Love is the fulfilling of the law.” Only in a heart where love dwells can the law of God be truly reverenced and obeyed.

Therefore, I choose to mediate upon Your law all the day. Which makes me wiser than my enemies. Who continue to think upon the things of this world. Yet the people around me are there to trip me up. But your law has makes me wiser than all my earthly teachers. Because Your Testimonies are the things of my meditation.

When I look at the Philosophers of old, I see that those who apply themselves diligently to the study of God’s Word have more real knowledge than all the ancient philosopher’s. For they failed to stoop and drink at the source of all true wisdom which are Your commandments.

Though the paths of sin may be smooth and flowery, those who follow these paths forsake the Word of God and cast His law and Testimonies to the side like garbage. Therefore, I have restrained my feet from every evil way, that I may keep Your word, Your Law, and Your Testimonies.

Therefore, I have not departed from Your judgments, for You oh, God has been my teacher, councilor and my confident. Your words of comfort and hope in my times of destress are sweet, like the sweet taste of honey to my mouth. Through your council, law, and testimonies I get understanding. I desire only to follow you. I have forsaken every false way for they lead me far from you and the great comfort that I find in you.
