Psalm 4:8 I will both lie down in peace, and sleep; for You alone, O LORD, make me dwelll in safety.
Only God can grant us peace and as the Psalmist says; I will hear what God the LORD will speak, for He will speak peace to His people and to His saints; but let them not turn back to folly. Psalm 85:8
Life is never easy, for each day has its own built in trials. The people of God, when we faithfully follow God are assured of peace. So let us not turn back to our wicked ways and keep our focus on the one that matters and that is Christ.
But there is one more aspect of peace to look at this morning and that is “Peace is the result of being controlled by the Spirit.” Romans 8:6 So letting your sinful nature control your mind leads to death. But letting the Spirit control your mind leads to life and peace.
Even if we do not feel at peace here on earth, we will recieve Peace that surpasses all understanding when Christ returns to take us to heaven on the glorious day of his return.
