As we discussed yesterday, Peace comes as the result of being controlled by the Spirit. Romans 8:6 So, letting your sinful nature control your mind leads to death. But letting the Spirit control you mind leads to life and peace.
Therefore if the Holy Spirit is in control of our life then we should have the fruits of the Spirit. Galatians 5:22-23, But the Holy Spirit produces this kind of fruit in our lives: Love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control.
Since the Holy Spirit produces these qualities or fruits in us, how can we attain this perfect peace?
God gives peace to those whose minds are fixed on him. Isaiah 26:3, 4; You keep him in perfect peace whose mind is stayed on You because He trust in you. Trust in the Lord forever, for the LORD GOD is an everlasting rock.[i]
Christ is the rock referred to in this text and He will give to you through the Holy Spirit peace. They key to this peace is always keeping Christ fixed upon your mind.
