John 10:27,28 “My sheep hear my voice, and I know them, and they follow me: And I give unto them eternal life; and they shall never perish, neither shall any man pluck them out of my hand.

From the beginning, God has had a plan to lead us back to Him. Sin had caused a barrier between us. As a people we are not always like sheep. Some of us are head strong more like a naughty goat. We are determined to go our own way even when we know it’s not a good choice. Our only job is to listen and follow. Just two things, listen and follow. God has given us free will and he has no choice but to let us go if we are not willing to obey. My Mother had quite a few interesting words of wisdom as I was growing up. I had 2 older brothers and 4 older sisters. Believe me, being the youngest, I have heard all the stories of my sibling’s shenanigans. When one of us wouldn’t listen, and make a bad choice she called it going up fool’s hill. For the longest time I thought it was an actual place! We went up and some of us took longer than others to come back down.

The heart of God yearns over His earthly children with a love stronger than death. In giving up His Son, He has poured out to us all heaven in one gift. The Saviour’s life and death and intercession. The ministry of angels, the pleading of the Spirit, the unceasing interest of heavenly beings – all are enlisted in behalf of man’s redemption.

Today, are you listening to the shepherd’s voice, and following Him? Or are you that naughty little goat who is standing on top of Fool’s Hill?
