Friday Sundown Worship

church-steeple-sunset-1024x768When growing up, I used to enjoy when Friday evening rolled around.  The hustle of the week was over, it was time for quiet family meal together followed by a short devotional by my father.  Then after we would either play different games that had a Bible theme and finally it would  be time for bed.

A few years before my mother past away, I used to visit her on Friday evenings.  Feed her supper and have a short devotional.  At first she would talk and talk and talk, but as the months past, her talking became less and less, but I continued to go.  Those last couple of years of her life, I looked forward to spending a couple of hours with her.  Having a devotional and praying together.

Because of those happy memories, as often as possible I will share a little short devotional on Friday evenings.  A new way of keeping an old tradition alive.

May you be blessed by the reading of His Word.  Amen.
